220 ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF NEW SALON AND CREATIVE SPACE
220 Salon and Collective is pleased to announce it’s relocation to 213 SW Ash St in Old Town, Portland, Oregon. The members of the collective, led by Owner Jodie Steagall, are operating in their new home as of December 2nd, 2009.
In late 2009, 220 Salon signed a lease on a 3500 square foot space on the second floor of 213 SW Ash. This two-story Wachsmuth Building was constructed in 1892, and houses the famed Dan & Louis Oyster Bar. With the building’s history in mind, 220 reclaims and rebuilds as one space; an evolved epicenter for salon practice and the ongoing creative endeavors of the members of 220.
A private champagne reception will be held in late January of 2010 to officially launch the space. 220, in partnership with Fourteen30 Contemporary, is staging a single evening featuring the work of light based artists. The evening will also premiere the recent short films of NYC-based visual artist, and Bumble and Bumble Creative Director, Howard McLaren.
Founded in 1999, 220 Salon has since been operating at 220 SW Ankeny, and building a reputation for dedication to technical vigilance, inspired vision, and artistic integrity in the Portland hairdressing community.
